The original idea behind monkeymaximus text messaging was made in Febuary 2002. It was a product of procrastination and Midterms.

As the word got out, it became apparent that the demand for this kind of service was there, friends were added and people began to know about it. Then it evolved when Procrasination met Finals.

After a while I lost interest and the site was used but to a limited capacity. Early 2003 I decided to learn PHP (web programming language) and that building a text messaging website would allow me to accomplish this. The site has gone through quite a few evolutions with features added, and looks changed. Now being what you see, and this new site has allowed for hundreds THOUSANDS of people to sign up and send and recieve text messages.
